Defining Obesity
Obesity is chronic or non-communicable disease. Obesity is related to co-morbidities such as type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease. In the United States, prevalence rates for generalized obesity (BMI > 30 kg/m2), extreme obesity (BMI > 40 kg/m2].Women have more generalized obesity but less central obesity than men. Increase of obesity rates in youth (ages 2-19 years) in the US as well as around the globe.

Fat Mass and Percent Body Fat

The fat mass can be directly measured by one of several imagining modilites ,including MRI and CT. The fat mass can be measured indirectly using of water or a air displacement. Each of these methods was estimates that the proportion of fat or a non fat mass are calculated in percent of body fat.                                                                                                                                                                        

Body Mass Index [BMI]

BMI Body Mass Index is person weight measured in kilograms divided by his/her height in meters. In the United States the obesity defined in adults as a BMI of 27.3 kg/m2or more for women and a BMI of 27.8 kg/m2or more for men. These definitions were based on the gender-specific 85thpercentile values of BMI for persons 20 to 29 years of age.

Fat Distribution
Fat distribution means increasing of total weight.Fat distribution increased the risk on types 2 diabetes hypertension and heart disease in both men and women.obesity is commonly reported as a waist-to-hip ratio.
